What is the process for acceptance of projects into the foundation's folds?

It would be really nice to have it clarified, how the process goes if for example JamesNK would like to put Json.NET into .NET Foundation’s roster.
How is the policy, in place or planned, to avoid bringing all of GitHub’s .NET repositories into the list. If it isn’t defined, could we start the discussion here?

Open-sourcing a production-level MTA

It is exactly for something like this (defining an project acceptance criteria and process) that I think the advisory council of the foundation would be helpful. While we wait for the AC proposal to get through the ratification process, JamesNK can contact the Foundation directly at the Foundation website contact page (or send a private forum message to me) and someone will get back to him quickly.

Thanks @monoman for asking the question.
